I don’t remember the number of people but it was a LOT. Sure, people love to run. However, I think the biggest draw for most people was the promise of chocolate at the finish! (And the sweet technical hoodies weren’t too bad either.) I did think the thought of chocolate might spur me on but I found that when I am running for that long, water was the only prize I wanted. That and to stop running.
Sunday, January 13, 2012, I ran the Hot Chocolate 15K in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the longest running event I’ve ever done. For those who don’t know the conversion, 15 kilometers is roughly 9 miles. I’ve ran 10 miles before. On a treadmill. With no hills. While watching TV. Completely in control of my pace. This was a much different beast.
