That is the distance from where I am and where I am moving to.
Therefore, I have decided to start a blog so the ‘folks back home’ can keep track. In a way that is a bit more educated than Facebook.
These are my last two weeks in Dothan, which has been my home for 13 years. I graduated from high school and had my first job here. There are a lot of memories in this place.
But it’s time for me to move on and move out. I’m leaving to go to college to pursue a degree in English. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever been this excited to go to school.
I originally started college as General Studies and then changed it to Business/Marketing. But I realized that Business is not going to make me happy. I want to do something I love, regardless of the risk.
While I am very excited to leave home and have a plethora of new experiences, I am definitely going to miss all the people I am leaving behind. My coworkers and my family.
Mom, in particular, is having a hard time. That loveable emotional mess. (Love you, Mom!) So perhaps this blog can help the distance seem a bit shorter!
Till next time,
A Varner
