Ice. Milk. Blender.
Loud grinding.
Smooth, easy.
Bananas for substance.
Strawberries add sweetness.
Blueberries are antioxidants.
Texture's off. Add apple juice.
Tastes too sweet. Too much.
A friend suggests kale.
And this friend would know.
It's good for you,
studies have shown.
In it goes.
Tastes too sharp. Too much.
This green is good for you,
your mind, your body.
But the drink's ruined.
No more bananas, strawberries, milk.
You try for a while to drink it.
Put up with it.
But it's unignorable,
the taste bitter in your mouth,
in your stomach.
You throw it away wondering,
Waste of time
Or learning experience?
Inspired by a prompt in my creative writing course to write about love with an unconventional metaphor.
